About the program

This class will guide you through essential techniques for creating and preparing documents that you may encounter in your future careers and practical life. Each day will focus on different real-world writing tasks such as resume and cover letters, email etiquette, STEAM writing, personal statements, and how to use AI effectively and responsibly while writing. Students will explore writing across disciplines to develop a strong understanding of the power of written communication. Students will leave with a broad exploration of practical writing, and a writing portfolio with templates and examples which they can refer to and utilize as they embark on their journey through and beyond high school.

Through a mix of lectures, discussions, and workshops, you’ll learn to ask questions, deconstruct tasks, brainstorm effectively, and explore what subject areas interest you the most—and no matter what you choose to do in life, it will involve writing.

This course will meet daily from 1:00PM -3:00PM EST (Monday-Friday) and requires an internet connection and access to Zoom. The instructor will have 1:1 sessions with each student to offer personal feedback.
