About the Campus
8095 Innovation Park Drive
Two years ago, UVA | Northern Virginia changed how the region’s professionals could be always-on learners, now we’re changing where they meet so they can be always-on changemakers — with purpose and place.
Opening February 2025 in the Inova Center for Personalized Health complex, this new 55,000-square-foot Fairfax Campus will serve as the heart of UVA activity in Northern Virginia. Spanning the second and third floors of Building C, this urban campus is situated across the street from Inova Fairfax Hospital, home to our teaching hospital for third and fourth-year UVA medical students.
The Fairfax Campus will feature classrooms and collaborative workspaces designed to host students across all UVA programs. This space will serve as a hub for our working professional learners, high school students taking summer courses, alumni and friends, and businesses seeking workforce training through UVA.
“UVA | Northern Virginia’s physical space has big shoes to fill, but we won’t be a replica of Grounds in Charlottesville. We are committed to creating a space that upholds the richness of UVA excellence while connecting to the dynamic, metropolitan qualities of the DC area. The campus design reflects this tension: meeting old with new, connecting the natural with the urban.” – Executive Director, Julie Sara Boyd

“There will be a nursing student, an engineering student, and a business student all sharing the same space. If that’s attractive to you, that’s what you’ll get here. It more closely mirrors the undergraduate experience. You’ll return to being around people of all different interests and professional pursuits. You may find this personally compelling, but that’s not the only reason we’re doing this: the problems of society are solved by multiple functional areas. The way we’re structuring this campus is a more accurate representation of the way things get done. It drives innovation.” – Greg Fairchild, Dean and CEO of UVA | Northern Virginia
