Summer Intern Spotlight: Swetha Baskar

As summer comes to a close, we’re catching up with one our Marketing interns, Swetha Baskar, to hear about her summer adventures, favorite memories, and what she’s looking forward to during her final year at UVA.

What have you been up to this summer, both professionally and personally?

This summer, I recently moved into my new apartment and have been getting settled in! I have also been taking summer classes to make more progress in my major and engage more in my learning going into my last year at UVA.

What’s one place you’ve traveled to this summer, and what made it memorable?

This summer, I traveled to California and stayed in Los Angeles and San Diego. I loved spending time with my family, trying great food, and enjoying the wonderful weather on the West Coast. My favorite part was seeing the sea lions on La Jolla Beach in San Diego!

What’s your favorite part about summer?

My favorite part about summer is getting to reconnect with friends. It’s easy to let time get away from us during the school year because everyone is busy and has a lot on their plate. Summer gives my friends and me time to pause and reconnect with each other, which is always a great time!

What’s one thing on your UVA bucket list that you’ve accomplished—or still hope to accomplish?

I still haven’t been the first Bodo’s ticket! That’s on my UVA bucket list, and I hope to accomplish it before I graduate.

What are you most excited about for the fall semester at UVA?

This fall semester, I’m excited to take it all in during my last year at UVA, enjoy my time on Grounds with my friends, and finish the year strong!
