Meet Our New Team Member: Jane Catania

It is our pleasure to welcome our newest team member, Jane Catania.

Jane Catania: Associate Director of Communications

We’re excited to welcome Jane Catania as our new Associate Director of Communications at UVA | Northern Virginia! Originally from Westfield, New Jersey, Jane moved to Virginia for college where she earned a B.S. in Hospitality Management from James Madison University and an MBA from George Mason University.

Jane brings a unique blend of experience from both the hospitality industry and higher education. She began her career in hotel management, working in guest services, sales, and marketing before transitioning into higher education communications. Over the past half decade in higher education, she’s worn many hats, including leading efforts in social media marketing, program management, website and graphic design, and more. Most recently, Jane served as a Communications and Marketing Manager at the George Washington University where she supported all marketing and communication efforts for a variety of schools and academic units across the university.

In her new role at UVA | Northern Virginia, Jane is excited to lead the school’s marketing and communications to elevate awareness of UVA’s presence and impact in the Northern Virginia region. She will work closely with students, faculty, staff, and community partners to share compelling stories and important news that highlight UVA’s footprint and its unique array of programming.
